§ 14-141. Duties of the fire chief.

  • The duties of the fire chief shall include but are not limited to:

    (1)

    Conducting periodic fire inspections of buildings, structures and premises within the town's corporate limits.

    (2)

    Conducting investigations of fires of a suspicious nature so as to determine their point of origin and cause.

    (3)

    Assisting school authorities in developing and managing fire prevention programs for each public school within the response area.

    (4)

    Maintaining an adequate staff of fire inspectors certified by the North Carolina Code Officials Qualification Board to properly execute all provisions of this chapter.
